Associate Engineer

Shadin is seeking hands on, energetic and experienced Associate Engineer to work in a challenging FAA regulated industry. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual who wants to work independently as well as with a talented team and help us continue on a path of positive growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support new product development by designing and building test fixtures, test software, and cables for product test.
  • Manage drawing and document changes through an ECO change process.
  • Support Hardware Design efforts through component searches, schematic updates, and board layout modifications.
  • Support Software development efforts with hardware test set-ups and special test equipment
  • Conduct Environmental and EMI qualification testing and assist in test plan and procedure development and report generation.
  • Program and operate on-site environmental test equipment for development testing and production support.
  • Support legacy products by locating equivalent parts or other modifications due to obsolescence.
  • Solder and de-solder through-hole and surface-mount electronic components, wires, and cuts to printed circuit boards and assemblies
  • Test and calibrate parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications.
  • Identify units that fail, troubleshoot, and re-work as necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Two year associates degree in electronics or similar; one to three years experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Aviation industry experience preferred;
  • Ability to work in a time sensitive environment where priorities can quickly change;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a team with other departments to collectively meet the organizations and customer’s needs;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is desirable;
  • Excellent problem solving skills;
  • Strong oral and written communication skills;
  • Highly motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
