PROCEDURE TO DETERMINE THE K-FACTOR, FULL FUEL
VALUE, AND SOFTWARE VERSION OF YOUR SHADIN FUEL
MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

1. Apply power to the indicator.

2. Press and hold the ENTER / TEST button until you see 8’s (or flashing squares) scrolling across the display.

3. The word “GOOD” appears.

4. The first set of numbers to appear on the screen is the K-Factor and the type of fuel units.

5. The second set of numbers is the FULL FUEL amount programmed into the indicator.

6. Third set of numbers is the SOFWARE VERSION. Several screens may scroll to display the full version of software, depending on the indicator type. Software versions are usually 6 digits in length. Older units will have a 4 digit software version. If you are unsure of which software version you may have, write down all of the numbers that you see and call Tech Support (1-800-388-2849).

7. To interface a Shadin Avionics Fuel Management System with a Garmin GPS, the software version must be Level 72 or higher. The level is indicated in the last 2 digits of the software version. Program the indicator as follows:

Group 2 Configuration O page = 5 I page = 1
Examples of what you may see on the screen:
K-Factor = "29.2 gals"

Full Fuel Value = "Ful 142"

Software Version = "60.XX.XX"
